RICHMOND - Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn appointed Delegate Hala Ayala (HD-51) to be the first ever chair of the newly formed Technology and Innovation subcommittee within the Communications, Technology, and Innovation committee.
“I am deeply honored to chair the Technology and Innovation Subcommittee. As a cybersecurity expert, I know that technological innovation is critical to the success of our Commonwealth. I am looking forward to leading discussions on key bills that will foster technological innovation and growth in our Commonwealth. ” stated Delegate Ayala. In her role as Chair, Delegate Ayala will set the agenda and lead key policy discussions for the new subcommittee.
Rounding out her committee membership appointments, Delegate Ayala will serve on the Finance and Labor and Commerce committees.
Delegate Hala Ayala was re-elected to her second term in the House of Delegates earlier this year. She is a cybersecurity expert and has been a resident of Prince William County for over 35 years.
