WOODBRIDGE- Today United State Representative Gerry Connolly (VA-11) announced his endorsement of Delegate Hala Ayala (D-51) in her re-election race for the Virginia House of Delegates in District 51.
“There is no question Hala has taken her tenacity and tough work ethic to Richmond. She has consistently delivered on the promises she made to the people of the Commonwealth. From expanding Medicaid to raising teacher pay, Hala has never been one to back down from a challenge. This is why I was proud to endorse her in 2017 and I am proud to stand with her today. It is imperative that we continue to build on the progress she has made in the legislature, and I look forward to her re-election in November,” said Representative Connolly.
The election for the 51st House of Delegates District will be held on November 5. Delegate Ayala and Representative Connolly will be participating in joint activities throughout the campaign to work towards her re-election effort and help Democrats win the majority in 2019.
Delegate Hala Ayala has been a member of the Prince William County community for over 35 years and was elected to represent the 51st District in Virginia House of Delegates in 2017. She is a cybersecurity expert and served as the chief co-patron of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) during the 2019 legislative session.
