Today, United States Senator and candidate for President, Elizabeth Warren, announced her support for Delegate Hala Ayala’s re-election campaign to the House of Delegates 51st District.

In the video, Senator Warren stated "I'm very glad to support Hala Ayala in this powerfully important election. I’ve gotten to meet Hala and I continue to be inspired by her fierce advocacy for the people of the 51st District. She has kept her promises to the people of the Commonwealth."

Delegate Ayala introduced Senator Warren at her Town Hall in May at George Mason University, where the two spoke about the importance of raising the minimum wage, expanding access to affordable health care, and the fight for equal justice. Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren is currently running in the Democratic primary for President. Prior to being elected to the Senate in 2012, Warren was a law professor and served as an assistant to President Barack Obama and special advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury.

Delegate Hala Ayala has been a member of the Prince William County community for over 35 years and was elected to represent the 51st District in Virginia House of Delegates in 2017. She is a cybersecurity expert, single mother, and served as the chief co-patron of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) during the 2019 legislative session.
