WOODBRIDGE - Today United States Senator Tim Kaine announced his endorsement of Delegate Hala Ayala (D-51) in her re-election race for the Virginia House of Delegates in District 51.

Senator Kaine stated, "I'm pleased to support Hala Ayala's re-election to the Virginia House of Delegates in the 51st District. During her first term, Hala helped expand Medicaid, raised teacher pay, and pushed for the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. As the daughter of an immigrant, a single mom of two, graduate of Virginia public schools, and a cybersecurity expert, Hala brings a wealth of experience and an important perspective to the General Assembly. I know she'll continue to work for our shared values in her second term."

Senator Kaine has served as Mayor of Richmond, Lieutenant Governor, Governor, and is a current United States Senator. With Senator Kaine’s endorsement, Delegate Ayala has been endorsed by both of the sitting United States Senators in Virginia in her re-election to the House of Delegates. The election for the 51st House of Delegates District will be held on November 5.

Delegate Hala Ayala has been a member of the Prince William County community for over 35 years and was elected to represent the 51st District in Virginia House of Delegates in 2017. She is a cybersecurity expert and served as the chief co-patron of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) during the 2019 legislative session.
