Passage of HB 201 caps off historic General Assembly session

Hala’s Highlights from Session: Marathon Session Night!

This week we have been working through many of the Senate’s bills. This meant late nights on the floor with my colleagues to make sure that all of our revenue bills were completed on time while making progress on the regular calendar and in committees.

HB 201 (Same Day Voter Registration) Passes the Virginia Senate

A huge win for Virginians this week with the passage this week comes in the House’s passage of our Budget bill. This year’s budget bill was a colossal undertaking to create, but I am very proud of the end result! It makes great steps to help create a Commonwealth ready for 21st century challenges, while at the same time maintaining the fiscal responsibility Virginia is known for.

Happy Valentine’s Day! It’s fitting today is the day for love. Because if there’s one theme to represent our session this year, it’s a love for our Commonwealth. We’re showing affection for our environment by passing landmark energy bills. We’re showing our passion for our schools by supporting the Governor’s huge increase in education funding. And, of course, we’re protecting everyone’s ability to love whoever their heart desires!
